Making Much of Christmas
The word Christmas is made up of two words, Christ and Birth. This means that when we celebrate Christmas we are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. However, there are so many more implications to this season of Christmas than just the birth of the Babe of Bethlehem. We not only want to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but we want to amplify and magnify the name of Jesus all season long.
John 3:30 says, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” This verse is the main point of the Christmas season and this Sermon Series. We want to focus on increasing the name of Jesus Christ, while at the same time decreasing our role. Jesus is the most important thing to focus on and celebrate as we make much of the Christmas season.
